Every story has characters. And in every good story (I’d say so), something about that character sticks. They are authentic, you can relate, they are relevant, somehow matter. It's sometimes easier to procrastinate on the characters and start with world-building, but at the core of a gripping narrative lies our characters and how they shape the world around them. Think about the internal conflict, not the external.
